The main assignments of DGLC are to prepare and implement the formulation of policy and technical guidance in land transport.
The Functions of DGLC are:
a. To manage the Ministry of Transportation policy in the field land transportation, road transport and traffic, inland waterways and ferry transport, urban transport and also land transport safety.
b. To implement the policy of road transport and traffic, inland waterways and ferry transport, urban transport and also land transport safety.
c. To formulate standardization, norm, guidelines, criteria and procedure in road transport and traffic, inland waterways and ferry transport, urban transport and also land transport safety.
d. To give technical guidance and evaluation
e. To arrange the administration in the scope of DGLC.
