The Functions of Road Transport and Traffic Directorate are

a. To prepare the policy in road transport network, vehicles, road traffic, public transportation and controlling road transport and traffic operational.

b. To prepare the formulation of standardization, norm, guidelines, criteria and procedure in road transport network, vehicles, road traffic, public transportation and road transport and traffic operational controlling.

c. To prepare the formulation of policy and technical guidance in road transport network, vehicles, road traffic, public transportation and road transport and traffic operational controlling.

d. To prepare implementation of the policy in road transport and traffic which include as the responsibility of DGLC.

e. To manage technical guidance for the Government Official Investigator (PPNS) and provide the technical qualification in road-transport and human resources.

f. To prepare the implementation of the harmonization of national, regional, and international standardization in road transport and traffic network.

g. To implement evaluation and report in road-transport and traffic.

h. To do administration, personnel and home affair in Directorate itself.
